Senior Management Committee Formally Bids Farewell to Elevated Members

The Judiciary Senior Management Committee formally bid farewell to Hon. Lady Justice Flavia Nabakooza and Hon. Justice Amos Kwizera, who previously served as members of the Committee before their elevation as Judges of the High Court.

Speaking at the farewell do held in honor of Judges, the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr. Pius Bigirimana, congratulated them saying he was confident of their capacity to deliver in their new roles. Noting that promotion brings both recognition and challenges.

Dr. Bigirimana said being a Judicial Officer is a calling, urging the Judges to maintain public confidence. He also expressed his wish to see more Registrars ascending to Judgeship.

The Chief Registrar, HW Sarah Langa Siu, congratulated the new Acting Judges, and thanked God for their elevation.

Reflecting on their previous roles, she thanked them for their contributions before becoming Judges, affirming that their elevation is well-deserved. She encouraged them to continue shining and wished them the best, praying for their confirmation from Acting Judges.

Hon. Lady Justice Nabakooza thanked the Committee for the invitation and thanked the Chief Registrar for her nurturing support. She also appreciated the teamwork of her former colleagues and thanked the Permanent Secretary for providing her with a new vehicle.

Hon. Justice Kwizera expressed gratitude for the invitation, remarking that "it's heartwarming to know that where we left, people have fond memories of us".

He extended thanks to everyone present, emphasizing the valuable management skill she gained through working with senior management.

Hon. Justice Kwizera also pledged to work diligently and encouraged open communication regarding any negative feedback. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Permanent Secretary for providing them (new Judges) with new vehicles.

The ceremony concluded with a cake cutting and the awarding of Certificates of Recognition to the newly appointed Acting Judges.
